The presentation will cover problems corrosion causes in fire sprinkler systems, offer an in-depth look at the current state of corrosion abatement technology and evaluate the economic impact that corrosion has on fire sprinkler systems by Andy Kaempfer with Potter Electric. Andy will also present some of the latest results from long term nitrogen testing and it’s effects at 98% N2 on galvanized pipe vs. black iron.

Andy Kaempfer is a Business Development Manager at Potter Electric Signal Company.  Andy has been at Potter for 14 years, most of that time spent in Research & Development as a Mechanical Engineer. Andy has been an integral part of the development of the Corrosion suite of products and most recently the Nitrogen Generation equipment. His experience ranges from Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Logistics and most recently, Sales & Marketing. Andy is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and makes his home in St. Louis, MO.

The meeting will take place at Cinzetti's in Overland Park on Monday March 3, 2014 starting at 11:30am.

The Missouri-Kansas Society of Fire Protection Engineers are planning on hosting a local Fire Modeling class for members of the chapter at the office of Henderson Engineers in Lenexa. Currently, April is the target month and the chapter is looking for interest parties to formulate and distribute pricing rates for the course that would run up to three days.
