Jessie is a recent (May 2016) graduate from the Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology program at Oklahoma State University. While at OSU, he was elected for many chair positions in different organizations including President of the OSU Firefighter Combat Challenge Teams, Training and PPE Officer for OSU’s Fire Protection Society, Sports chair for OSU’s Fire Protection Society tasked with organizing participation in intramural sports, and was on the Apparatus Committee for OSU’s Fire Protection Society that was tasked with the restoration and preservation of OSU’s two relic fire engines.
As a recent graduate, he is well aware of the benefits that SFPE offers to students ranging from education outside of the classroom through student lead chapters to monetary support from scholarships to the different, accredited, universities. He wishes to see these benefit continue and even grow so that more students become engaged. He believes, through experience as a college athlete, that the best way to create success in any organization is by including your newest members as soon as possible to ensure they are developing the necessary habits and traits to continue the growth and success of the organization. This chapter of SFPE has been very successful in raising funds to continue the monetary support for many worthy students studying the fire protection discipline. If I am elected as Secretary of the Mo-Kan SFPE, he would like to continue the support as well as elevate the way we continue to pursue the education, fundraising, and networking opportunities that are offered by the Mo-Kan SFPE.
