​2021 was currently a unique and challenging year, but thanks to our members the chapter was able to adapt to those challenges and have a great year!  Thank you to everyone for participating in our new virtual webinars, and Teeing off with us for the annual fundraiser! 
 
We don’t know what ’22 holds in store for returning to whatever ‘normal’ looks like.  We do know we will take the opportunities we can to safely meet in person as we organize another year with new events that will expand our networking, learning, and impact on improving fire safety! 

The MOKAN Chapter is pleased to announce our three 2021 Scholarship Recipients: Grant Yardley, Kevin Rossip, and Nichole Manning!

​Grant Yardley is currently attending Oklahoma State University, and will be joining the fire protection team in June of 2022 when he graduates.  He has been an active member in his local SFPE chapter and is looking forward to continuing his participation in the Society as he begins his career in KC. 

Kevin Rossip is a junior at the University of Kansas and currently has an internship with FSC Inc. where he is learning to navigate the industries codes and standards.  He is the president of KU's Tabletop Gaming Club and is a very proficient violist in KU's Symphony Orchestra. 

Nichole Manning is a student at the University of Kansas working on her Architectural Engineering Degree with a practical background in automotive mechanics as well as team and project management.  Her new found interest in fire protection has been sparked while completing Dr. Rock's Fire Protection course this semester.
