The Office of the Kansas State Fire Marshal is preparing to update our adopted codes and standards and we would like to offer you the opportunity to provide comments or other input. In the upcoming months we will begin preparing the regulations to adopt and a formal public hearing and comment period will be scheduled. At this time, we wanted to solicit any input and give everyone the opportunity to become involved in the process as early as possible. We are currently operating under the 2006 International Building Code (IBC), 2006 International Fire Code (IFC), 2006 NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and various other NFPA documents. Please see the list of the intended codes and standards to be adopted. Questions and concerns should be sent to: Mende Barnett, [email protected]. What is brewing with the chapter lately? So there was a survey, now what? When is the next meeting?
We are working behind the scenes to build energy for this chapter, including springtime meetings and building a base of officers for 2015. Should you be interested in helping lead the chapter or help in planning effort, we would invite you to join us for an open officer's meeting on Monday, February 16th at 11:30am. We will host a live meeting at Henderson Engineers in Lenexa, Kansas, and also provide an online conference for those would like to call in. During the meeting we will plan towards March, April, and May member meetings, discuss initial planning for the golf tournament, and discuss open leadership opportunities for the chapter. If you are interested in attending, please contact Joe Meyer at [email protected] for further detail. |
