2021 was currently a unique and challenging year, but thanks to our members the chapter was able to adapt to those challenges and have a great year! Thank you to everyone for participating in our new virtual webinars, and Teeing off with us for the annual fundraiser!

Calling all ladies/gender minorities to join us in the first WSFPE & GMSFPE virtual coffee round! This Friday (8/20/21) at 7:30 AM the MOKAN SFPE Chapter will be hosting in partnership with the Saint Louis, Chicago, and Wisconsin Chapters a women/gender minority social networking event that will focus on connecting you with and supporting your fellow gender minorities in the industry. Thursday, April 1st from noon-1pm CST Bob Sullivan, with NFPA, will be presenting on NFPA 855 – Standard for the Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems. This year the MO-KAN chapter will be going virtual! So, meetings will be reduced to $5 for members and $10 for non-members. This fee will be non-refundable, and proceeds will be used to support the chapter and the SFPE MO-KAN scholarship program. The Missouri-Kansas Society of Fire Protection Engineers Chapter recently received the BRONZE Award for Chapter Excellence (ACE). This award recognizes the Mo-Kan SFPE chapter for the accomplishments in demonstrating excellence in contributing to the needs of their members and the Society. Receiving this award speaks volumes about our Chapter and could not have been made possible without the continued input and support from our Chapter's members.
The Mo-Kan SFPE Chapter would like to thank you all for your time, talent, expertise, and continued support that you have provided to Mo-Kan SFPE. Through your active participation, you have all made a difference in the Chapter's ability to grow and understand new concepts as they relate to Fire Protection Engineering. Your ideas, input, and enthusiasm were most helpful and have assisted us in making valuable improvements to this Chapter. At the February 6th general meeting, the Missouri-Kansas Chapter of Society of Professional Engineers elected new officers to lead the chapter for 2017 and 2018. The officers are
President | Mike Bullimore, Business Development Manager at Keller Fire and Safety Mike graduated from Platt College with an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and also spent time at Missouri Western State University. He started his career as a Sales Engineer with Ferguson Machine in St. Louis, Missouri, selling Automation-Robotics Equipment around the Midwest. His involvement in fire protection began with Fike Corporation as Western Regional Manager for Explosion Protection in 2000, covering the western United States. In 2002, Mike became the Western Regional Manager for Fike responsible for Clean Agents and the introduction of ECARO-25, covering the western United States. In 2005, he moved to Keller Fire and Safety (purchased by Fike in 2004) as a Sales Consultant selling Fire Alarm and all Special Hazard Fire Protection. In 2015, Mike became the Business Development Manager at Keller Fire and Safety where he currently resides. Mike held the Vice-President and President Positions with the Missouri-Kansas Society of Fire Protection Engineers from 2006-2008. Vice-President | Drew Poole, EI, Fire Protection Engineer at Poole Fire Protection, Inc. Drew is a Spring Hill, Kansas native and a Fire Protection Engineer at Poole Fire Protection in Olathe. Drew was a live-in firefighter in Silver Spring, Maryland for over two years while attending college. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering (2011), M.E. in Fire Protection (2012), and a M.S. in Engineering Management (2014). He is involved in a wide variety of projects including fire alarm, mass notification, sprinkler design, foam suppression (hangers and petroleum), fire modeling, code consulting, and performance based design. In addition to SFPE Mo-Kan he is also affiliated with SFPE National, Society of Military Engineers (SAME), NFPA, etc. Drew has also been appointed to the follow technical committees for NFPA:
Treasurer | Maryann Quinto, Service and Sales Representative at National Fire Suppression Maryann is longtime supporter of our local chapter having served terms as Treasurer and Vice-President in years past. With 20 years of diverse experience in the life safety industry, her passion is building relationships and providing fire safety and life safety solutions for customers. She is multifaceted and well versed in estimating, sales and project management of a wide variety of fire protection and life safety system applications, NFPA standards and local codes for inspections of both fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems. Secretary | Jessie Warren, Fire Protection Engineer at Poole Fire Protection, Inc. Jessie is a recent (May 2016) graduate from the Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology program at Oklahoma State University. While at OSU, he was elected for many chair positions in different organizations including President of the OSU Firefighter Combat Challenge Teams, Training and PPE Officer for OSU’s Fire Protection Society, Sports chair for OSU’s Fire Protection Society tasked with organizing participation in intramural sports, and was on the Apparatus Committee for OSU’s Fire Protection Society that was tasked with the restoration and preservation of OSU’s two relic fire engines.
