SFPE National is hosting a virtual seminar over the Application of Fire Risk Assessment Monday January 24th.
Following a brief overview of the Guide to Fire Risk Assessment, participants will be divided into working groups which will be tasked with applying the SFPE Guide to a specific project. Groups will be able to choose from a selection of projects that include: historic building, a high-rise residential occupancy, or a petroleum industry facility. In addition to applying the Guide to their specific project, participants will also review the work of other groups to broaden their understanding of the concepts of a fire risk assessment.
MOKAN initially hoped to coordinate local participants for an in-person meeting for the interactive group portion of the seminar, but due to current conditions will not be moving forward with the in person meeting at this time.
Risk assessments are becoming more prevalent in the fire protection industry and will not be going away anytime soon. We encourage our members to take advantage of the seminar.
